Our Story
We are the Fants and we are farmers.
We come from a long line of pioneer farmers who have worked the land for over 100 years in this same area that used to be the town of Fantville. We are Floridians from Levy County, the nature coast. We are proud members of our community. We are growers and harvesters. We are environmental, problem solvers, and thinkers.
We are... composters.
We are the Fants, Allen, Ellie and their daughters Kyra and Jenna. Kyra and Jenna both attend the University of Florida and grew up driving tractors, tending to fields, and animals, alongside their parents.
Allen grew up on this farm in Morriston, Florida just like his father and grandfather before him. He initially started doing test on different crops, and, in 2008 he began large-scale composting which he incorporated into his farming, using best-management practices
Today, we still use composting agriculturally in addition to having a DEP registered facility in which we produce high-quality compost and top-soil for nurseries and commercial baggers. We're excited to continue growing alongside our community and working to regenerate our soils and improve air, soil, and water quality globally.
